Real-time tracking projection experience relies on Modulo Pi’s Modulo Kinetic V6 and KineMotion
At JTSE 2024, Modulo Pi presented an experience featuring real-time projection on moving objects. The experience was based on the Modulo Kinetic media server and KineMotion optical tracking module developped by Modulo Pi.
Modulo Kinetic is a comprehensive media server designed to effortlessly create stunning visual experiences.
Highly versatile, Modulo Kinetic can be used across the complete workflow, including study, simulation, playback, and show control. Featuring real-time 3D, interactivity, and tracking, the media server also comes with an embedded low-latency live mixer as an industry first.
These extensive capabilities are brought within one consistent and user-friendly interface to deliver optimum performance, reliability, and usability.
Now available in Version 6, Modulo Kinetic was associated with KineMotion, the real-time tracking solution fully developped by Modulo Pi. Available as an option, KineMotion consists in an add-on software, beacons, as well as a calibration kit made of a wand and a square. Based on KineMotion and OptiTrack tracking cameras, Modulo Kinetic masters the whole calibration process.
As demonstrated during the JTSE with a Panasonic 240Hz projector, KineMotion offers ultra-low latency, as well as high accuracy and precision for real-time video projection on moving objects.
The set-up consisted in:
1 x Modulo Kinetic Designer
1 x Modulo Kinetic V-Node server equipped with 2 x 4K output
1 x KineMotion tracking module
1 x Panasonic PT-REQ12 video-projector
6 x OptiTrack cameras
