Modulo Kinetic powers a 360° mapping on the Arc the Triomphe during vibrant Paris 2024 celebrations

To mark the end of the unforgettable Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, the Champions’ Parade took center stage on the Champs-Élysées in September. The highlight of the night was a spectacular video mapping show on the Arc de Triomphe delivered by Magnum and powered by Modulo Pi’s Modulo Kinetic media server.

On September 14, 2024, the Champs-Élysées came alive with the Champions’ Parade, a vibrant celebration honoring the Olympic and Paralympic athletes, organizers, volunteers, and supporters who made the Paris 2024 Games such a remarkable success.

The parade and ceremonial aspects of the event were complemented by a giant concert and performances on Place de l’Étoile. The Arc de Triomphe was surrounded by a massive 400-meter round stage, providing a 360° experience to the audience.

Magnum was entrusted with the technical production of a video mapping projected onto the Arc de Triomphe. A total of 20 x PT-RQ50K Panasonic projectors were installed to illuminate the edifice, as well as 5 x Modulo Kinetic media servers by Modulo Pi.

Anthony Martel, Video Supervisor at Magnum, explains:

“Modulo Kinetic’s 3D mapping tools helped us calibrate the system quickly, and save a precious amount of time.”

Throughout the night festivities, the mapping projection on the Arc de Triomphe offered a highlight of the best moments from the Paris 2024 Games and ceremonies. “Working with Modulo Kinetic’s timelines, we could efficiently encode the show and easily handle the different parts of the celebration” comments Anthony Martel.

Following a series of performances by various artists on the circular stage, the Champions’ Parade concluded with an energetic DJ set.

After being in sync with timecode for part of the show, Modulo Kinetic played the VJ contents thanks to low-latency live inputs embedded in Modulo Pi’s media servers.
