Modulo Kinetic powers The Rose Ball 2022 in Monaco
On July 8, 2022, The Rose Ball was held in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo. Created in 1954 by Princess Grace of Monaco, the Rose Ball has become a major society event and fundraiser night with international outreach. This year’s theme was “The Twenties, the return” under the artistic direction of fashion designer Christian Louboutin.
The event was in hands of the Marcadé agency, while Mediacom oversaw the technical production. The main stage was illuminated through a central LED wall and two laterals, as well as 6 x Christie Boxer 4K30 projectors: 4 were used for the stage surroundings, 1 for a large kabuki curtain, and 1 for a mapping on stairs.
For this prestigious event, Mediacom worked once again with the Modulo Kinetic media server by Modulo Pi, with 1 x Kinetic Designer workstation, and 2 x V-Node servers.
Modulo Kinetic was used for the 3D simulation of the show. Using the software, all show sequences could be previsualized in 3D with all major elements of the scenography – including the kabuki curtain, appearance of the LED screens and stairs on stage – and the media corresponding to each sequence playing.
Modulo Kinetic powered the LED walls and video-projectors, and it was also used for projection mapping. Teams of Mediacom relied on the X-Map function to easily map the media content on the stairs and other areas of projection.
After the dinner, a DJ came on stage for a set. The content sent by the DJ in the LED walls could be passed on the stage surroundings thanks to the V-Node server equipped with an input board.
